'Sup, ship mates. You've gotten the low-down from Newt already, Dusty's managing food and Grandpa Barnes is still passin' the buck as always . . . I figured I drop in my stuff too. A while back, I had a few people ask about self-defense classes and training.
And I figured that's useful 'cuz the last mission definitely went hairy and people got hurt. I'm happy to offer up some tranin', sparring or hell, even weapon maintenance or setting you up with some basic gear.
I got the qualifications. Did a stint in MIT, but also did a couple of active war tours 'round Afghanistan and Iraq, was a Navy Seal. Trained in a couple of martial arts disciplines. Ain't too shabby with swords and shields along with guns.
You're welcome to hit me up and we can start training. Skill's the best asset you got and you never know, even with superpowers or magic and whatever, to have an extra edge.
If that ain't your thing, I'll hook you up with some basic flash bombs. No fuss.

[ his left side is shot, but he just plows through. ]

[ a bo staff. not uncommon in dojos, but speaks a level of experience erik didn't expect to see. he would have to hedge his skills in a bit. ]
Meet me at the Training Room. We can get started.

[ Let him change out of his boring sweater and into something far more suited for sparring and he'll be right there. ]

Raleigh's no crocodile, but lucky him - both sides of his body now mirror one another thanks to the final fight down under the Pacific getting nasty. ]
Hey -- Erik?

In the flesh.

Good to meet you. Mean to ask you - you got anything I should know about?
[ You know, bad knee, rusty shoulders like he's got. ]

Nah, I'm good to go.
[ he takes his position on the mat, muscles relaxed. this is a sparring session, a bit of training. he doesn't need to go hard or all out. ]

[ Nah, there's no reason to wail on anyone today. Erik seems like a decent dude, hasn't been anything but pleasant, and he looks like he knows what the hell he's doing.
Raleigh situates himself opposite, settling into himself, letting muscle memory take over. This isn't Mako, it's not a kwoon trial, he reminds himself. It certainly isn't a compatibility test. Relax, focus, more control. ]
