the video opens on tigra and faun—excuse, gwen and alina on what is a roof? somewhere? they may be living up their rogue class a little too much.

Alina and I met Hillard Groves.

and also broke in where they shouldn’t and made off with their share of the treasure—just a day in the life of brilliant rogues 😌

Much of what we heard confirms what has been shared: the Songbird Brigade came closest to recovering the orb; Dweyre wanted to do the right thing, and the rest kept going in his memory; they tracked the orb down, but then Ellia apparently attacked Jun.

Our missing Songbird, Ellia Roundtree, joined the brigade for Dweyre. When he died, she stayed for Degar, wanting to look after Dweyre’s little brother, I guess. After he disappeared, she stuck around until the Incident. Hilly,〈 hillard at no point gave them permission to call her “hilly”— 〉 was just as surprised as Alena that Ellia stayed as long as she did. Said she wasn’t motivated by fame or fortune; her “problem” was caring too much.

belatedly remembering something important: 〉 Oh, yeah, Hilly’s quiche? 〈 chef’s kiss. 〉 To die for.

( Oh hey, it's Mal, wreathed in blue smoke, but clearly in one of the rooms of the tavern much of the party's taken residence in. If it looks like he’s trying to work the video and isn’t sure what he’s doing? Well. That’s what’s happening and why you get a view of some very dirt caked hands and mostly his nose at first. )

Alright, alright– ( Enter McCoy, who gives Mal's shoulder a comradely shove, and thus pushes him gently out of frame.

The doctor schools his expression into seriousness, having the bearing of an esteemed orator at a lectern, on the cusp of imparting some heretofore unheard-of wisdom.

...if only. )

Mr. Oretsev has so kindly asked me to convey to you all that the Great Mulgrowe's pipeweed, though of excellent quality and astonishin' strength, is completely useless when it comes to assistin' with the mission.

( A pause here, because he briefly turns back to Mal for confirmation. The other man has gone and draped himself in a chair with his pipe, as loosely-boned as Alice's indolent caterpillar. Mal offers a dreamy little wave, and a kind of proceed gesture to McCoy, who turns forward again, rolling his eyes genially. )

He also wishes for me to invite all y'all to vibe with him, as soon as it's convenient. Which is, to say, right now.

( The second Bones says ‘vibe,’ Mal can be seen mouthing the word a few times with an expression that reads ‘I have no idea what this means’ before he slowly slides off the chair he’s seated in and and on to the floor with a soft thump.

Bones is trying so, so hard to keep a straight face, his Georgia drawl thick and sweet as molasses, threatening to muddle into something utterly inscrutable if he talks for any longer.

So, of course, he does. )

I'm here – ( Ah'm 'a here- ) – to remind y'all ahead of wherever this cockamamy mission drags us into to take advantage of how flush we are in clerics right now. There ain't no sense runnin' headlong into potential danger if you're already hurtin'.

If you think I'm referrin' to you – Daisy, Itachi – then I am. Every one of y'all's important to someone here, even if you don't know it. Even if they don't know it.

Honor them by tryin' your damnedest to live, and to live well.

( So there. Satisfied, he leans back on his heels, and gives Mal another glance.

And Mal has managed to stand up and is now trying to lean, oh so casually, against the chair he'd fallen off of. He offers a thumbs up. The corner of McCoy's mouth curls into a smirk, as he adds: )

He says 'and bring sandwiches'.

[ joe, looking fine as hell, pops on to the network via video, sat on a fence post and feeding his pretty blackish-roan mare a handful of oats and horse treats. ]

Friends, I have recently come into possession of a spell scroll that is, in my non-magical opinion, quite powerful. It's called "ultimate cancel" — which I did not name, I would have gone for ... "The Last Word". Hm, yeah. [ he nods, satisfied with his own contribution, what a dingdong. ]

It cancels any effect that is magical in nature so I'm not sure if a cleric should be carrying it, but it has instructions for how to learn if one of the more magically inclined among us would like to give it a whirl.

We were relayed this by a woman named Nina Darkwood who it turns out is both Dweyre and Degar's mother. She's lovely.

[ she made joe cry! ]

She told us that Dweyre and Ellia Roundtree were in love, all but married, if not in name than in spirit. Losing Dweyre lead her to something of a reclusive life. She's left Alydhion entirely by all accounts.

[ joe can relate, how many of y'all had seen him about after nicky had left? not many! ]

I know a lot of the stories we've heard paint her as the enemy but they don't strike me as particularly accurate in light of her continued relationship with her dead lover's mother. [ and joe doesn't trust a paladin, like at all, on sight, so fuck jun. turns out a man whose people were slaughtered in a so called holy war doesn't give a fuck about the opinions of, uh, holy knights. respectfully, suck his dick. ]

Anything else? [ the view pans to andy, atop her own intimidating black horse. she has clearly just shoved a handful of food in her mouth, but it doesn't stop her from mumbling "no" around the food. crumbs spill out. there's a slight pause, muffled laughter, before joe gestures back at his horse. ] This is Guinevere. Tell her she is pretty.
