[ this is strange to do without the iris network, but it isn't hard. every network is the same after all. ]
Hello. I have a few questions, if people don't mind.
1) How does time work here? Does it pass? Do people really get older?
2) Has anyone died on a mission?
3) How old are you?
I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.

Hope is not an innate thing. It is something you must reach for. When you have nothing else, it can become the only thing within your grasp to seize.

Is that hope or desperation?

What do you think?

( it can't be something told. it can only be learned. )

Even if my experiences are limited?

What you choose to do with them is up to you.

What have you chosen?

I have chosen to be more than what I was made.
My experiences, too, were limited.

Is that part of being human? That you can just choose and the world lets you?

I suppose whether or not you 'can' choose depends upon your own interiority and will than anything else.
It is not a matter of being human. Sentience bears with it some degree of self-determination across many species and universes.
The world from which I hail would not have been able to facilitate the necessary growth and changes for me to have ever considered the choice to be a valid one. It is only through my time here that such a thing has become possible for me.

that's why he chose to hope. to save ghondor. that hope . . . still matters, right? even if mio is — even if they —
his response is simple. ]
I want that.
[ maybe it'll give him the clarity noah needs right now. to avoid being lost in his own despair and tragedy. to look at his tattoo and not think time is running out. to even reclaim his music. isn't that . . . what mio would want to? ]

No one will give it to you.
